It has been a privilege to be Headteacher at Willaston CE Primary School for the past twelve years. Working every day with engaging children, dedicated, passionate and hard working professionals and a team of committed and talented Governors is incredibly rewarding. I have spent the whole of my career in the teaching profession working in four different schools predominantly in school leadership. I believe that every child deserves the very best education we can provide. Every area of the curriculum is important and it is our responsibility to encourage every child to be the best they can be. It is a pleasure to lead Willaston's great team.

I have been the Vicar of Christ Church since February 2015 and I am married to Joanna, we have a daughter who is already at Willaston Church of England Primary School and a new baby. I find children always ask the best questions and I have the joy of taking Collective Worship in school each week. I hope that everyone knows I am around to chat whether pupil, staff member, parent, or carer.

God bless, Stephen.

I have recently been appointed as a Parent Governor and Vice Chair of Governors and look forward to serving my time with commitment, enthusiasm and honesty. I will support the school in continuing to move forward with challenge and rigour to ensure it delivers the best quality education to our children.

I have been a member of the community for 45 years and believe the school plays a pivotal role in bringing us all together. I feel privileged that both my children attend the school and with the support of the staff are flourishing both socially and academically. The involvement of parents to work alongside the school is crucial for this to continue and I hope to be a line of communication during my term.

I have lived in the village since 1986 and both my children were pupils at the school. I was a parent Governor at the time and, until recently, I have been involved as (temporary!) auditor of the school fund for almost 20 years. I am a Chartered Accountant by profession.

I am keen to ensure that the available financial resources are put to their best use to ensure that education provided by the school continues to be of the highest standard.

Miss E Chapman
Staff Governor / SENCO

I have been SENCo at Willaston CE Primary School for the past twelve years supporting children and their families through the primary school journey. I have recently achieved a postgraduate certificate from Edge Hill University for the National Award in SEN Co-ordination. Through these studies I have become very interested in further developing my knowledge of the role of a governor in school.

On a personal note, I am also keen to support the community side of the governing body as my grandparents moved to the village of Willaston from Essex in 1947 to start a local family business and my father is an ex-pupil of the school.

I count myself privileged to have lived in the Village for almost eight years with my husband, Mark and two ‘moderately’ independent teenage sons.

Having been brought up in a farming community in Yorkshire, I have always had a passion for village life and playing a small part in the village community. I am fortunate to have joined the Reading Ranger team at Willaston Primary School two years ago and I am passionate about helping children to read. I have been involved with our family business for thirty years and hope to bring some of my commercial and personnel skills to the work of the Board of Governors.

Hello, my name is Jill Collins and I’m delighted to be taking over the role of Local Authority Governor from my husband Martin, thereby continuing our family’s long association with Willaston Primary School which now spans four generations.

As a parent I was Chair of the PTA back in the 80s and a regular classroom helper, and it was with the support and encouragement of the school staff at that time that I decided to go back to college full time and retrain as a primary school teacher.

Now, thirty years later and the proud grandma of two little boys, (one of whom is already a pupil at Willaston and the other will be so within the blink of an eye) I am thrilled to be able to repay my debt of gratitude by taking an active role in the future of this inspirational school.

Warm wishes, Jill.

I have lived in Willaston for 20 years and have one child who has just started in reception. I am looking forward to working with the teaching staff and governors in order to continue the school’s progression, with the aim of providing a first class education for all children who attend and a solid learning foundation for the rest of their lives.

I’m hoping that my skills and training gained with work will complement the expertise of the board of governors and that I will be able to assist the staff to continue to provide a safe and fun environment for all children to learn in.
