Letter from Mrs Chambers

Dear Parents/Carers

I hope you all had a restful half term break. The children have all returned to school keen and enthusiastic, which is brilliant.

Important

May I remind you that if anyone in your household is waiting for Covid test results, children must not attend school until a negative test result has been received. This is really important if we are to keep ‘bubbles’ open in school and ensure that school is not a place where the virus is spread. Please help us with this. We want to keep all classes open to children and our ability to do this becomes less likely if all families do not follow these rules.

On a different note, I have good news and I am pleased to report that Cheshire West and Chester have agreed to install a path outside the school gate to improve the access to school. The work for this will start on Monday 9th November and will take about three weeks. We have informed Cheshire West of the staggered start and finish times and they have confirmed that the work should not interfere with these times.

We have received a couple of requests for children to have a different finish time to the one allocated. I understand that a staggered start and finish time is difficult for some families and that this situation is far from ideal. The Government guidance however requires that children are kept in ‘bubbles’ to reduce the risk of spread of the coronavirus and recommends staggering times to reduce the contacts. We are therefore unable to change the times for some children in the class.

This term is always an exciting one as it leads up to Christmas. We are already in discussions as to how we can make sure that there is still ‘sparkle’ at Willaston CE Primary during this period. It will obviously take a slightly different format. We will keep you updated as to our plans as the term progresses.

Kindest regards

Mrs Chambers
