Dear Parents/Carers

I hope you are all well and staying safe. Please find attached your Learning Grid for this week to help with your child’s learning. Hopefully you are finding these useful. Don’t panic if you haven’t finished everything from last week. You don’t need to. I have spoken to a number of people who have said that one day this week they really struggled to motivate themselves or their child to complete tasks. I just wanted to reassure you that this is quite understandable and normal. Whilst children respond well to structure and routines, but please don’t feel guilty if you abandon your routine and do something completely different like watch a film, read a book, go for a walk if things are not going to plan. Mental health and wellbeing is paramount at this time for everyone and struggling to carry on with something, because you feel that you should, doesn’t do you or your child any good.

I hope you liked the Life Skills Learning Grid which was sent out last week. It would be really good to see some of the tasks that your child has learnt during this time at home. Please Tweet us and keep us up to date. I know that the staff will be delighted if every child could tie their own shoelace when they return to school! Obviously most of our school news at this time, is in your homes. With this in mind, we thought it would be a good idea to showcase anything that children have been doing at home on our monthly newsletter. This will also give other families ideas about what activities they can become involved with at home. Please send any contributions with a photograph to  office@willastonce.cheshire.sch.uk

Our collection of rainbow pebbles is growing daily by our side gate to school as a mark of respect for our key workers and those who work for the NHS. Can I encourage you and your wider families to add to it on your daily exercise if you haven’t already. As we focused on our school value of ‘respect’ this week, I hope the children took plenty of opportunities to demonstrate respect throughout the week at home.

Have a good week, take care of yourselves and stay safe.

Kindest regards

Mrs Chambers and Class Teachers
